元来、絵のぼりは男の子が丈夫に育つように端午の節句を祝い屋外に飾られるもので、日本古来の武将などが描かれる例が多い。一般家庭に親しまれ、日本全国に絵のぼりを普及させるために、単純明快の絵柄、鮮やかな色彩を出すことの研究を重ねるとともに、一種独特の絵の具を研究し、手書き絵のぼりのこれまで一番の弱点であった風雨による色の褪せ、色の流れを防ぎ、画期的な手書き絵のぼりを確立した。

室内絵のぼりの考案
生活様式の変化に伴い、庭のない団地が多くなって来ている今日、絵のぼりを普及させるためには室内へ飾るという発想から、いくつかの試作を重ねた結果、昭和46年３月、室内絵のぼりを完成させた。
この室内絵のぼりは伝統工芸であった絵のぼりに近代感覚を盛り込み、現在生活様式にマッチしたため画期的製作品として、東京、大阪各主要都市での製作実演をはじめ、テレビ、新聞、出版物等による紹介も手伝って手作りの良さが見直され、今では日本国内はもとより、遠くはアメリカ ハワイ州においても高く評価されるのに至ったのである。
